Competition Nets Over One Ton of Food for Local Food Pantry
150 to 200 families per day to be helped by donation from Werner Electric Supply Co. employees

/Electrical News Articles/ - Neenah, Wis., March 27, 2005—Employees of Werner Electric Supply Co. raised more than 2,600 pounds of nonperishable food items for St. Joseph Food Program Inc. in Menasha. "I'm proud of all our employees here at Werner Electric for taking the initiative to organize this
worthwhile food drive," said Lynn T. MacDonald, president and chief executive officer of Werner Electric. "The St. Joseph Food Program is an important part of our community and we're excited to have
the opportunity to help them during this holiday season." According to St. Joseph officials, the food program serves approximately 150 to 200 families, roughly 900 individuals, daily from communities throughout the Fox River Valley. "What Werner Electric employees did is a wonderful example of what a group can do when everybody brings in a little, because it all adds up," said Joann Johnson, operations manager with St. Joseph. "And that's what keeps us going, caring people who recognize the need and want to address it by reaching out to help their neighbors." The three-week food drive ended December 10 and was organized between departments at Werner Electric's Neenah facility, which has about150 employees. This was the first time for such an event at the company and organizers are looking forward to holding the competition on an annual basis.
