Rosendin Electric Receives First Place Honors for Safety with AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award
Rosendin Electric Only California Contractor Tapped for Specialty Division with Top Honors in Construction Site Safety

SAN JOSE, CA, March 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rosendin Electric (www.rosendin.com), one of the nation's top 5 electrical contractors and a 100% employee-owned company, has received a first place award for safety from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), one of the AGC's most coveted honors. Rosendin Electric is only one of a handful of companies, and the only California contractor, to receive a first place Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA), in the Specialty Contractors division.

The Construction Safety Excellence Award winners were announced earlier this month at the AGC's 90th Annual Convention in San Diego. Award winners were selected by a panel of construction safety professionals from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. The awards are sponsored by construction insurance and surety broker WillisRHR. This award singles out Rosendin Electric as one of the safest construction companies to work for in 2008.

"This award is extremely gratifying, and highlights our true success - ensuring that everyone goes home each day injury-free," said Marty Rouse, Corporate Safety Director for Rosendin Electric. "Our day-to-day safety success is the result of everyone working together. Rosendin Electric has a culture committed to maintaining an injury, incident, and impact-free environment (I-3 Free). This award just highlights our commitment to an I-3 Free environment, and raises expectations to achieve an even greater level of safety."

Rosendin Electric had to first compete for the California State AGC Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award before they could compete for national honors. The AGC judges examine each company for safety performance, including reviewing the finalists' safety programs, employee and managerial procedures, and resources used to promote safety. Rosendin Electric was one of the finalists in the Specialty Contractor category with one million man-hours of work, competing with all other companies in the specialty category, not just electrical contractors.
